Payment never substitutes for learning.
Gnu Group Learning Academy is operated by GNU IT Solutions and Services..
Linux pilot
The Linux Fundamentals material is free to access. A learner who wants a Gnu Group Certificate of Successful Completion must take the Academy assessment and score at least 75% before paid certification is enabled. With 30 questions, that means at least 23 correct answers.
Assessment
The pilot assessment contains 30 randomized questions selected across Linux fundamentals, users and permissions, processes/systemd, package management, storage, networking/SSH/firewalls, shell automation, and security/troubleshooting. A server-side attempt record determines eligibility.
Attempts
Up to two assessment attempts are permitted per learner email in a rolling 24-hour period. Attempts expire after 60 minutes.
Credential format
Issued credentials receive a unique certificate ID, QR verification link, issuance fingerprint, server-generated A4 landscape PDF and public verification record. The PDF is rendered from the certificate issuance snapshot and certificate template version.
Credential scope
The certificate records successful completion of this Gnu Group Learning Academy program. It is not a vendor certification, government licence, statutory qualification or third-party accreditation unless a future program expressly states otherwise.
Verification and revocation
The public verification record shows learner name, program, assessment score, issue date, record fingerprint and current certificate status. Revoked credentials remain verifiable as revoked; they are not silently deleted. A downloaded PDF for a non-active record is visibly watermarked with its current status.
Identity
The pilot uses the learner name and email declared at assessment start. It does not currently perform government-ID identity verification. Stronger identity verification may be introduced for future professional credentials.
Demo certificate
A non-valid demonstration certificate is available at https://learn.gnugroup.org/academy/demo-certificate.
